Summary

I forgot to mention earlier the reason I chose this book. The book “Giving Thanks with Max” is a great choice because it’s a sweet story that helps children understand why being grateful is important. It’s simple and easy to follow, with a character kids can relate to. The story shows Max learning how to appreciate the little things in life, which can teach readers to be more thankful for what they have. It’s a nice way to help kids connect with the idea of gratitude in a fun and meaningful way.

Danielle you did an excellent job reading the book “Giving Thanks with Max”. I could tell that you really appreciate that story and love reading it to children. This is my first introduction to that book. I also found it to be a sweet story about teaching children how to be grateful. I like that you explained the characters, the message in the story, and scenes during the readings. And the fact that you are able to use the book to do an actual activity with children is proof that this book was an excellent choice. I am adding this book to my list of books to get.

Hey Danielle! I really enjoyed your presentation! You very seamlessly transitioned through out the book and place pauses very strategically, in places they would make the most sense. Your energy in your voice kept me very engaged and also made it clear that you were also interested in the book you were sharing. Also, you used your eye contact very effectively and did so to ensure a very graceful ending and beginning. I loved it!

The way you read the book was so melodic and fit the poetic tone of the book so well. Also, I loved how it seemed like you really enjoyed the book as you would stop to describe some of the illustrations. You did such a good job bringing the words on the paper to life. Good work Danielle!

I loved how you showed the book as you read and how you explained words to note. This is definitely something you would do in a classroom environment to keep the kids looking for those words making them stay engaged. I also like how you explained her speaking bubbles because we were not able to read it ourselves.
