Based on all the different stories I read, I learned that Goldilocks and the Three Bears is more than just a simple children’s story. The Different versions of the fairytale reveal much deeper meanings, depending on the audience and the time period. In some versions I read, Goldilocks is portrayed as a curious but harmless girl, while in others, she is shown as disrespectful and even made out to be the villain which was very different than anything I’ve ever read about the tale. I discovered that the tone and visuals of the story can completely change how we interpret the characters and the themes. Reading the versions where they portrayed Goldilocks to be a dark character made the entire story feel different. Overall, I learned that Goldilocks is a very flexible story that teaches lessons about not only curiosity but boundaries and consequences.
